Privacy Policy – Mission:Play

The Mission: Play app (“Service”) was developed by scientists at LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center and University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Cyber Fision Inc.. This app was made possible through Pennington Biomedical’s Greaux Healthy initiative, funded by the State of Louisiana. This app is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
What data are being collected? How is that data being collected?
Information is being collected on your usage of the Service for the purpose evaluating the usage and effectiveness of the app. All data will be stored securely and made available only to persons developing the project. Every effort will be made to maintain the confidentiality of your records. However, someone from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center or University of Tennessee, Knoxville may inspect and/or copy records related to ongoing performance maintenance.
Your usage data will be collected from this app, including when you open and close the app, when you open and close videos on the app, when you click buttons on the app including the stars for each week’s lesson, your zip code, and your email address. Participation is voluntary, so you may stop using the app at any time. Data that have already been collected will be used, unless a specific request is otherwise received. If a user wishes to revoke consent and/or request deletion of data, please contact missionplay@pbrc.edu and/or helpdesk@pbrc.edu.
For which specific purposes are the data collected?
The usage data that we collect will allow the development team to identify areas of improvements in the app such as: the interface, language, videos, and/or activities.
Which third parties will have access to the information?
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information (see information in What Data is Being Collected?). The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
Will any third party collect data through widgets (e.g. social buttons) and integrations (e.g. Facebook Connect)?
The app does not use third-party links or integrations.
This app does not use “cookies”.
Security.
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children’s Privacy.
These Services are not available to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can delete their data accordingly.
Changes to this Privacy Policy. We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
